Chapel Hill & Beyond
At University Baptist Church, we believe that following Jesus means showing up with love—in our town, our nation, and our world. Whether it’s volunteering with local nonprofits, co-hosting events that foster healing and healthy conversation, or supporting organizations committed to justice and compassion, we seek to be part of Christ’s reconciling work in every place we can. Below are just some of the ways we try to reflect the love of Jesus with our hands, hearts, and resources—in Chapel Hill and beyond.
Journey to Mental Wellness
Co-hosted annually in May with our sister church, First Baptist Church of Chapel Hill, “Journey to Mental Wellness” invites our wider community into conversations surrounding faith, mental health, and healing.
Our most recent event, focused on “Mythbusters and Mindfulness,” and included breakout sessions for children (Grades K–5), youth (Grades 6–12), college students, adults, and senior adults.
Sessions were led by faith leaders, mental health professionals, and medical practitioners—each offering insights and tools for cultivating emotional and spiritual well-being in every season of life.
