University students gather in the Great Hall most Sundays after worship for a free lunch, fellowship, & a time of devotion. Devotions focus on talking points from each Sunday’s worship service. You don’t need to “prepare” for fellowship & devotion. We are happy to have you join us so we can all learn more about scripture and grow in our relationship with Christ.

Full and part-time undergraduate or graduate students from all colleges and universities are welcome!

Cooperative Baptist Student Fellowship

At University Baptist Church, we’re honored to host the Chapel Hill gathering of Cooperative Baptist Student Fellowship (CBSF)—a welcoming, affirming, and thoughtful space for college students to grow in faith, friendship, and purpose. Rooted in the values of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, CBSF offers students an open table to ask honest questions, explore scripture, serve the community, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in today’s world. Whether you’re seeking connection, conversation, or simply a place to belong during your college years, we’d love for you to join us.

Other Stewardship Opportunities for Students

Chancel Choir: This mixed voice choir is the worship choir for services at UBC. Open to 18 years and older, including university students through senior adults, the Chancel Choir presents seasonal concerts with orchestral chamber ensembles, masterworks, hymn arrangements, contemporary settings and traditional anthems every Sunday. Choral Scholars: The Music Ministry offers scholarship positions to area college students in an academic year, whose interests are in the ministry of music within the local church. These positions allow students to participate in the overall music ministry by singing with an accomplished church choir and possibly participating in one of the following musical responsibilities with children, youth or handbells. The scholars are encouraged to be involved in the college ministry of the church and enjoy the opportunity of fellowship within the University Baptist Church family. Children’s Ministry: College students can assist with Children’s Ministry in a variety of capacities during Sunday morning and Wednesday evening activities, such as helping teachers during Sunday morning activities or Children’s Mission & Music on Wednesday evenings during university semesters. Contact the church office for more information about volunteering with Children’s Ministry.

Franklin All Nighter: Franklin All-Nighter is an annual all-night run/walk sponsored by our church in the interest of raising awareness and funds for mental health resources in our local Chapel Hill community. Participation and volunteer opportunities are available annually for this event. Check out the Franklin All Nighter website for more info and volunteer opportunities.
