Emily grew up in Winnebago, MN, where her faith first began to grow as a member of First Baptist Church. Upon graduating high school, she attended St. Olaf College and majored in Vocal Performance. While at St. Olaf, her faith continued to grow, as she was challenged to make her journey with Jesus something personal that she owned, and not something that was only handed down to her. Emily arrived in May of 2024. In 2024, Emily also married her husband, Daniel. During her graduate studies, she discovered a passion for working with children.

Emily currently teaches music, acting, and dance to children at Barriskill Dance Theatre School. Prior to formally joining UBC’s staff, Emily got to know the kids of UBC through her involvement in Wednesday night children’s music, worship, and various other ministries for seven years. She feels that this opportunity represents a natural, Spirit-led “next step” in her journey at University Baptist. She is grateful for the love and support this church has shown her, and is excited to use her gifts and passions to share that same Godly love with the children whose faith is being nurtured in our fellowship.
